Ecotherapy

Reconnection with Self + Earth Beings

What is Ecotherapy?

Ecopsychology is an emergent, interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary field within Psychology that focuses on studying the emotional relationship between humans and the Earth. Rather than centering human experience within the context of family and culture, it expands to recognize the more than human world.

Ecotherapy is applied ecopsychology, integrating tools and techniques in a therapeutic container which includes earth beings and place. In this container, you are invited to slowly surrender human centered ways of knowing and open to sensuous, embodied, imaginal, and emergent experiences to meet ourselves and the world anew.

Ecotherapy addresses the following issues:

𓆸 Hopelessness

𓆹 Ecological grief

Climate anxiety / distress

𓆰 Disconnection from self, community, and nature

𓂀 Loss of connection to spirituality

Supported through:

𓁨 Eco-Somatic practices

𓈗 Centering Earth & Earth Beings

𓊗 Practices for reconnecting with Earth

𓆃 Nature Based Meditations

𓆙 Medicine Walks

𓃦 Equine-Assisted Therapy (coming soon…)

Ecotherapy invites you to remember and reclaim your essential nature

Since we are nature, we have the ability to commune and deeply relate to the natural world. By expanding our range of sensory awareness we can reconnect to ourselves and all of life, unearthing pleasure, harmony, respect and love, benefiting our entire ecosystem.

“Because the relationship between self and world is reciprocal, it is not a matter of first getting enlightened or saved and then acting. As we work to heal the Earth, the Earth heals us. No need to wait. As we care enough to take risks, we loosen the grip of ego and begin to come home to our true nature.”~Joanna Macy

Medicine Walk

A Medicine Walk is a conscious time for deeply exploring a question, to enter a state of deep listening and reverie, to be in relationship with nature as a mirror to your internal landscape. Medicine Walks are conducted outdoors in a surrounding natural area. You will walk, hike, take rest, observe the environment and your relationship to the land. You will be guided to observe your embodied connection to yourself and nature by paying attention to your lived sensory experience. These sessions facilitate a harmonizing of your body and psyche to the rhythm of nature, and may also reveal insights about where you are on your journey, current life issues, transitions, etc.

“The land knows you, even when you are lost.”
~Robin Wall Kimmerer

“The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with nature.

~ Joseph Campbell
